Job Description

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £350-£400/day (Outside IR35). This role will be flexible working with 2 days perweek required in the office.Responsibilities:- Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts and (issuing financial data through to delivering finance reports)- Taking a proactive approach with stakeholders, such as developing and maintaining relationships with Business Managers to ensuring the sharing of information- Interpreting monthly financial data, undertaking performance analysis, processing corrections, challenging forecasts, investigating/discussing variances, and to meeting timeframes- Identifying and explaining risks, pressures and emerging trends within the function and reconciling to the budget position- Supporting reconciling payroll and suspense accounts- Supporting system maintenance- Supporting the Annual Business Planning round- Assisting in the production of the organisation’s annual accounts and associated supporting audit papers- Supporting strategic financial planning and management.Essential Skills:- Be a member of a recognised accountancy body (CCAB or CIMA)- Have strong management accounting knowledge and experience, with a good knowledge of business planning and budget monitoring- Have experience of preparing monthly finance reports and/or the ability to assist in report development- Have excellent communication skills, with an ability to build relationships, interact and engage with internal and external stakeholders- Have experience of analysing data e.g. payroll and must possess the ability to reconcile data sources and resolve outstanding balancing items- Have experience of, or an aptitude for, working with accounting and other software preferably including Sun Accounting system and Vision/Q&A and electronic purchase ordering systems.- Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including the use of Excel at an advanced level.Desirable Skills:- Should be able to demonstrate a competence in financial modelling including the use of Excel and other relevant tools.If you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.
