Job Description

Office Angels Edinburgh are in search for a Finance Assistant to join our clients busy office based in South Gyle. The full time salary would be £25,000 p.a., for part time 3 days would be £15,000 p.a. and 2 days per week would be £10,000 p.a. Start datefor both positions is as soon as possible and our client also offers a hybrid working environment.About the role:We have an excellent opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our clients team. This will be a busy role with lots of variety so a great opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in finance and to get fully involved in all aspects of financeactivities and projects.Ideally you will have at least 3 years accounting experience, experience with sage50 and a strong grasp of excel.You will provide support to the COO and across the business, on day-to-day finance administrative tasks as well as supporting on-going project work. You should be well organised, able to prioritise tasks, have a strong attention to detail, can work at pace,and able to deal with information in a confidential manner.What is important is that you align with our client culture and values, and have a positive can do mindset.Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing customer queries by phone, email and fax.
  • Responsible for the registration, matching and processing of invoices.
  • Responsible for reviewing unposted invoices.
  • Uploading of bank statement information onto the financial system and assisting with the completion of various month end balance sheet account reconciliations to specified deadline.
  • With support from management accountant gathering data for VAT returns and HMRC payments.
  • Post journals.
  • Process staff expenses.
  • Maintain filing system.
  • Provide administration support to the COO. Skills and Abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate and influence staff and managers at all levels.
  • Strong planning and organising skills, with the ability to prioritise and multi-task in a constantly changing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the confidence to make decisions and resolve problems.
  • Ability to take ownership of your responsibilities and to deliver at pace.
