Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Finance Operational Adviser as soon as possible on an initial 9 month contract, with potential to extend, on a salary of £27,598 to £30,019 per annum. Thisrole would be mainly remote based, with the odd need to attend an office.Responsibilities:- Dealing with payroll updates, conducting variance checks - Processing manual expenses claims - Making supplier payments - Posting bank transactions and income - Credit Control - Routine and non-routine enquires in all areasEssential Skills:- HNC in business administration, or SCQF Level 7 equivalence via Professional Development Awards; Higher Education Certificates; Modern Apprenticeships; and SVQs- Proven administrative experience within a multi-disciplinary environment - Practical experience working in a finance role in at least two of the following areas: Sales Ledger; Purchase Ledger; Payroll; Treasury & Expenses.- Experience and knowledge of core accounting principles including basic reconciliations and the preparation of journals - Experience of communicating and influencing across teams - Ability to work with minimal supervision; to plan and prioritise own workloads; and to meet deadlines - Flexible approach to learning and problem solving- Commitment to personal and professional development- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels - Ability to produce complex spreadsheets, and support management in the production and dissemination of routine reports as needed - Strong working knowledge of standard Microsoft packages in particular Excel as well as confidence using MS Teams and SharePoint - Strong understanding of GDPR and data protection, plus appreciation of the need for discretion and confidentiality in the workplace - Understanding of the need for accuracy and attention to detailDesirable Skills:-HNC in business administration, or SCQF Level 7 equivalence via CIPS Qualification; Professional Development Awards; Higher Education Certificates; Modern Apprenticeships; and SVQs-Proven expertise in all of the following areas: Sales Ledger; Purchase Ledger; Payroll; Treasury & Expenses.-Experience of working within Health and/or Social Care -Advanced Excel skills (e.g. Complex VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, and formulae)-Experience of running BOXI reports on eFinancials -Ability to collate and produce reports and statistical information-Supervisory role including coaching and/or mentoring of team membersIf you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.
