Job Description

Meraki Talent are looking for a Finance Assistant for a professional services client in Edinburgh. The position is varied and can offer progression, professional development/responsibility and study support for the right candidate.The duties of the Finance Assistant:

  • Processing payments electronically by cheque, bank draft and cash
  • Responsibility of client transactions, interest deposits and importing of data
  • Carrying out bank reconciliations, daily, weekly and monthly
  • Completing month-end processes and ensuring accounts balance
  • Ensure compliance with in-house and external rules
  • Responsibility for maintaining ledgers and allocating collected cash
  • Credit control duties and chasing aged debt
    • The background of the Finance Assistant:
  • Previous experience working in a professional services environment is essential. E.g. Accountancy Practice, Legal sector, Financial Services
  • Studying towards ACCA, ICAS or SOLAS
  • Working knowledge of Sage accounts
  • 5years + Accountancy experience within a professional services client
