Job Description

Our renowned client is a much-loved Scottish brand based in the West of Edinburgh. They are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to play an integral role in the team. This role will initially be for a 6 month fixed term contract but has a strong possibilityof becoming a permanent role. Its a great opportunity to join an established and successful finance function with a well-known brand. JobThe role of Finance Assistant will give you the opportunity to be involved with the following:
  • Download invoices and bank statements to create a daily banking sheet
  • Record all incoming payments from customers and correctly allocate against customers accounts
  • Reconcile all customer accounts as requested and ensure there is no unallocated cash at the end of the week or month
  • Chase remittances where required
  • Lodge cheque and cash payments and other banking transactions
  • Assist with bank reconciliations
  • Arrange internal transfers for wrongly deposited customer payments and contact customers to advise of correct details by phone / email as required
  • Monitor daily cashier email and action these
  • Direct Debit collection
  • Resolving customer payment queries, sending copies of statements and invoices
  • Assisting with purchase ledger if needed
YouAs Finance Assistant you will be skilled &/or qualified in the following:
  • Demonstrable experience of carrying out most of the tasks listed above
  • A good understanding of banking
  • Desire to do an excellent job
  • Strong communication skills and confidence
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise workload
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Must be self-motivated with a proactive approach to work
  • MS Dynamics 365 Experience (desirable)
  • Charity experience (desirable)
