Job Description

Pertemps Scotland Ltd are working with our client in Edinburgh to recruit for Facilities Supervisor on a temporary basis for 6 weeks possible extension. The role is full time and the rate of pay is £11.36 per hour.Start: ASAPContract ends: 6 weeks possible extensionRate: £11.36phSupervising the delivery of a range of Facilities services, i.e. catering, domestic, portering services, Facilities Supervisors will work on an integrated basis. With responsibility for designated areas, Facilities Supervisors are responsible for the delivery of all Facilities services ensuring staff are adequately supported within all disciplines to enable the delivery of consistently high quality services provision.In addition to supporting the day-to-day range of Facilities services delivery, the Facilities Supervisors will maintain a core responsibility for Domestic service provision.Main Duties & Responsibilities:Manage the delivery of the range of Facilities services ensuring consistent high quality provisionManage and direct Facilities Assistants making regular visits to premises throughout their area of responsibilityTraining of Facilities staff on a range of service related initiatives and hygiene practicesUndertake Turas appraisal and PDP reviews with staff and maintain records and online systemMaintain a high profile presence acting as the primary Facilities Supervisory interface within designated area on a day to day basis with Facilities colleagues, clinical staff, and visitors.Interfacing with all stakeholders, acting upon comments shared in relation to service delivery in order to continuously improve stakeholder satisfaction levels and maintain the highest quality of service delivery.Assist in the management of an effective complaints process in line with the NSS Complaints PolicyEnsure services provision compliance with all statutory & legislative standards and local & national policy, protocol and procedure - e.g. Catering related hygiene standards, HACCP, National Cleaning specification standards, local Infection Control Guidance etcUndertake monitoring of cleaning standards consistently as per DMT schedule, ensuring all issues relating to standards are addressed by appropriate staff training and review of practices.Undertake a range of risk assessments associated with cleaning provision ensuring accurate completion of documentationAllocation of schedules of work, checking work schedules and making temporary adjustments as required to meet needs of the service on a daily basis whilst ensuring financial expenditure does not exceed allocated budgetRecording of information as assigned by the Assistant Facilities Manager such as daily register/checklists; notification of absence details etcAuthorisation and recording of annual leave or other leave for Facilities staff whilst maintaining service within budget.Responsible for recording and hours worked and SSTS inputtingEnsure efficient and best use of all resources - i.e. staff, non-pay equipment & materialsManage agreed stock levels through the use of the Boards online Procurement system for cleaning materials, food deliveries for meals services and products for waste disposal and ensure they are available in all relevant locationsMonitor that food, cleaning agents and equipment are stored correctly.Ensure safe and appropriate work practices at all timesDatix completion and submission.Plan, control and delegate periodic cleans including deep cleaning.Completion of National Monitoring Framework ensuring rectifications are carried out timeouslyEnsure staff are managed in line with NSS policies.Ensure staff comply with Health & Safety regulations and adhere to manual handling/risk assessment and fire safety training.Support internal and external service inspections - e.g. Corporate & National HEI inspectionsParticipate as a member of local Fire TeamCleaning procedures as defined during induction and ongoing training.Equipment includes the use of suction cleaners, scrubbers/polishers, steam cleaning equipment, wet pick-up machine, carpet shampoo equipment, dishwasher, ladders, ovens,Food Safety Manuals, Health & Safety Control Book, H.R. Policy Procedures Manual.Cleaning agents and products.Waste management.Duty registers.Stock control.Training programmes/Staff training record cards.IT equipment.Departmental quality system(s).Knowledge, Training & Exoerince Required:Knowledge - SVQ 3 or equivalent experience including 3yrs experience of working in a Facilities role1. Knowledge of all aspects of Facilities Services with particular focus on domestic services as in job purpose (Induction Training provided)2. Knowledge of Health & Safety (training provided)3. Knowledge of C.O.S.H.H. (training provided)4. Knowledge of Lifting and Handling (training provided)5. Knowledge of Infection Control practices (training provided)6. Knowledge of Food Safety Regulations (training provided)7. Knowledge of appropriate Quality Standards8. Knowledge of Continuous improvement9. Knowledge and awareness of HR policies and proceduresTraining1. Training in the use of all machinery used (training provided)2. Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate (training provided)3. Supervisory Skills Training4. Ability to perform all tasks and duties throughout Facilities department.Experience1. Experience of Facilities services provision with direct experience in Domestic Services2. Working knowledge of Health and Safety and Infection Control.3. Good communication skills4.
