Job Description

Pertemps are currently recruiting for an Executive Officer to work on a full time temporary assignment at our well-known Public Sector client based in Edinburgh.Hours: 37 hours per weekRate of Pay: £16.19 per hourDuration: Immediate start until February 2022Location: Edinburgh City CentreMain Duties include:

  • Managing all Private Office aspects of the CMOs portfolio, including inboxes, prioritising papers and providing succinct and timely advice on key issues.
  • Management and delivery of all CMO business, including deputising for the Head of Private Office as required.
  • Work closely with the DCMO side of the Private Office to ensure a robust private office service is provided to DCMOs and CMO.
  • Working with lead policy colleagues, communication colleagues and special advisers to ensure the CMO is provided with high quality briefing in advance of engagements and parliamentary business and providing timely, accurate and good quality feedback tothe CMO and DCMOs.
  • Supporting the CMO to prepare for press briefings, Cabinet, media interviews and meetings.
  • Ensuring timely communication flow to ensure that the CMOs views are accurately and timeously communicated to policy colleagues, working with other senior clinicians to provide the appropriate advice.
  • Management of internal and external stakeholder relationships, including close working with the devolved administrations and other departments.
  • Ensuring all team members have a thorough understanding of the wider Directorate, political context and policy issues within the CMOs work.
Skills/Experience Required:
  • Excellent communications skills, written and verbal
  • Exercises strong judgement in decision making
  • Able to understand complex issues at speed
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, including the ability to: work calmly under pressure; balance competing priorities whilst meeting tight deadlines and deliver in a fast-paced environment
