We are playing a leading role in new nuclear build in the UK to secure a bright future for the combined business and its employees.Job description:The OpportunityEnvironmental Compliance Lead, Durham, Edinburgh or remote with travel - Competitive Salary & BenefitsApplications close - 31st January 2021Working as a member of the EDF RE UK Central HSE Team the post the Environmental Compliance Lead will lead and support the business toward a culture of HSE compliance by developing relationships across business teams and creating management systems that are suitable across all technologies and locations.A key facet of the role will be to Shapeand developa robust and innovative compliance based approach to Environmental management that can operate across all our technologies and is adaptable to new areas. The approach will need to, at a minimum level, combine legal compliance (UK and Ireland) with the requirements of our stakeholders minimising the risk of prosecution or breech of policy.Day to day you will:

  • Providing Leadership in driving forward Environmental performance while providing assurance of compliance with Environmental regulations, company policies and standards
  • Developing and supporting the implementation of Environmental management standards and procedures for the Governance and Oversight of all of the EDF Renewables UK Ireland business.
  • Create solid working relationships with Key Stakeholders in EDF Renewables UK allowing the business leads and managers to develop their own competence in Environmental compliance requirements
  • Work collaborative with business teams to support EDF Renewables UK to maintain a compliant Environmental Management System (BMS) that achieve the ISO 45001/14001,9001 and 50001 Accreditation process
  • Ensure that the EDF Renewables Business has a risk based internal Auditing and self-assessment process and plan provides assurance audits and reports on the Environmental compliance performance of the business
  • The undertaking of audits/inspections/site visits and the management/development of internal/external resource.
  • Develop, implement and monitor a compliance scorecard for EDF RE UK based on outputs from compliance activities both leading and lagging KPI’s for the business around HSE Objectives and Targets
  • Be the owner of the Environmental Legal Register ensuring awareness of compliance requirements across the stakeholder landscape.ech of policy.

  • Qualified to NEBOSH Diploma level or equivalent
  • Engineering/Construction qualification or Renewable’s experience.
  • Ability to form effective working relationships with site staff at all levels, including the ability to influence behaviour.
  • Competence in auditing and compliance assessments, the provision of management reports and identification of corrective actions.
  • All round knowledge of EDF HSE aspirations and requirements or ability to learn in role.
  • Be able to recognise over complexity of systems and processes and develop innovative and simpler alternatives
  • Have the ability to develop a thorough and detailed understanding of EDFE and EDF-ER management systems and processes
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and consistently deliver against tight time constraints while working flexibly as part of a team.
  • Be able to provide practical H&S advice and support
  • Effective communication skills, including written, on a one-to-one basis as trainer or coach, and with groups of people
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to change attitudes and influence behaviour
