Do you want to be a part of an innovative and supportive team, where there are great opportunities for career progression and developmentAn opportunity has arisen for the position of Engineering Assurance Manager in the Network Management Distribution team (Risk Management), reporting to the Network Planning Manager. The base location is Edinburgh, but the successful candidate must be willingto travel to carry out site inspections/audits and attend meetings with other business areas or external parties including building owners.What will you be doing day to dayEnsuring business compliance with industry standard IGEM/G/5 - Gas in multi occupancy buildingsEnsuring business compliance with SGN procedures - SGN/PM/RL/1, SGN/PR/RL/2, SGN/PM/REP/3Provide assurance of compliant design documentation pre installationProvide solutions to engineering or design challengesProvide assurance of compliant Network pipework installations on multi occupancy buildings post installation including risers, meter bank installations and complex distribution systemsWork to improve design processes and documentationMonitoring of MOB replacement and refurbishment workloadsManage safety concerns with Network assets supplying multi occupancy buildings or any building safety concerns or risksWork with Local Authorities, Housing Associations and other building owners to support Building Safety Cases for high rise buildingsEnsure adequate risk management procedures are in place and adhered toManage survey and risk assessment programmesSupporting the wider Network Management team with other tasks when requiredWhat you’ll needGood level of business knowledge and understanding of the gas industryEngineering design experienceHighly motivated with a flexible approachStrong people management skillsAbility to respond and adapt quickly to change; and meet tight deadlinesAbility to innovate, lead and support new technology, process change and different ways of workingStrong communication skills supporting regular liaison with other departments and stakeholders within SGN or externallyThorough knowledge of SGN systems and processesIf you don’t have all the qualifications, we would still love to hear from you… we provide our own specialised learning and development programs, providing access to learning tools to help you acquire the skills needed to excel in our environment.What’s in it for youJob security and genuine learning and development opportunitiesHoliday and sickness packageHolidayPlus - Buy up to 10 additional days holiday, available all year roundRetail & leisure discountsCycle2work schemeCompany pension scheme - with company contributions between 6 -12% (depending on length of service and personal % contribution)Gym & mobile discountsVirtual GP - Our GP Helpline is a virtual GP service which offers unlimited access to GP at a time which suits youWhat we do…We’re on a journey to transform the future of gas and we think outside the box - futuristic technologies and robotics are leading our innovation.
