Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Driver/Porter from 2nd of April to 21st of June on a rate of £11.44/hour PAYE. The working hours are 9am-16:30pm. This role will be based onsite.Responsibilities:- To ensure mail is picked up and delivered safely and in a timely manner between venues and other establishments- Ensure mail is correctly delivered internally and external mail is franked and sent out in a timely manner- To ensure that goods are transported between venues and other establishments in a safe and timely manner to either a central receiving area or direct to client’s area.- Cover goods receiving areas.- Ensure that all organisation vehicles are kept in good condition and roadworthy both inside and out- Load/unload and transport goods in a safe manner- Operate a forklift truckIndeedpublicsector- Carry out minor works around venues, including changes lamps, repairing furniture and doors etc. - Room/event set ups and moves both within and across venues to include outreach sites and exhibition space- Prioritise works on top desk- Change toners in printers, unblock units, report faults and stock up paper/envelopes etc. when required- Waste Champion, to include but not restricted to monitoring contractor bins, reporting of issues - Maintain and update sustainability noticeboards and information points- Energy Champion, to include but not exclusive to monitoring rooms and awareness materials- Meter readings- Pick up and dispose of confidential waste and shred when required- Ensure all loading bay/store areas are kept tidy, safe and secure- Unblocking of toilets, drains etc- Ensure safe pedestrian access to the venue is maintained in inclement weather, including footpaths, car parks and access roads.Essential Skills:- General education to SCQF Level 5 or equivalent.- Driving licence.- 2 years’ experience within a warehouse delivery environment.- Ability to work either within a team or on own.- Ability to work flexibly and effectively respond to change.- Good time management and organisational skills.- Physically fit.- A practical nature, flexible attitude to work and a willingness to participate in an on-going programme of staff development.- Update Disclosure Scotland check.Desirable Skills:- Manual handling.- Safe operating procedures.- Risk assessments.- Forklift truck training.- Computer skills.- Maintenance skills.- Counterbalance forklift licence.- ICT skills.- Safe Operating Procedures.- Waste management.- Stores/warehouse experience.- Presentable and Professional.- First Aid training.- Excellent communication skills – both individual and group.If you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.Indeedpublicsector
