Job Description

  • Standard Grades (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
  • Young person who is hungry for long term career
  • High level of numeracy skills and strong communication skills, both written and oral are required.
  • Ability to articulate financial matters clearly to Members.
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity to Members in financial difficulty.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and to be assertive when required.
  • The ability to listen carefully and offer support.
Responsibilities:
  • To monitor the repayment of loans issued and to ensure that Members failing to make repayments are quickly identified for subsequent action.
  • To contact Members directly, where payments have been missed and to set up payment plans to ensure that future repayments are made on time and that any arrears are recovered.
  • To arrange for debts to be registered and the appropriate corrective action to be taken against Members who default.
  • To liaise with third parties involved in the debt collection process, including regular contact with agents employed to follow up on non-payment of debts.
Internal systems : (daily use)TCS BaNCSBranch banking.TCS BaNCS LOSLoan application system.ASTRA - Accountant in Bankruptcy Trust Deed case management system.eDEN - Accountant in Bankruptcy DAS (Debt Arrangement Scheme Scotland) case management system.Use of all Microsoft packages ie Word, Outlook, Excel for spreadsheetsThe successful candidate will have the chance to enhance their professional development in an environment that will support you. You will be working towards your Digital Applications SCQF Level 6 apprenticeship with QA, after successful competition, we willthen review your progress with the aim to offer you a full time permanent post.
