Job Description

Digital Product Designer - Fully Remote or Edinburgh Hybrid Having placed individuals across the UK into this team ourselves, Loriens long standing client, a spin-off of another hugely successful Edinburgh-born venture, is currently looking to recruit a Digital Product Designer to act as the first fully-fledgedProduct Design representative in their expanding business.The team is growing quickly and right now theyre bringing about the next new trend in mobile-based online trading with a great marketplace & platform all created and set up by their current team (many of which came over to join this new project from theirparent company). To make sure everything runs smoothly, their users remain happy and the products look great and perform well, they are continuing to recruit new talent into the business - This is where you come in!Heres a snapshot of what you can expect to get up to and the skills involved - Bear in mind theyre very flexible too; this is open to people at all levels, as the right portfolio & personality is more important than tenure!:The role:

  • Working with a great and dedicated Product Manager (from a design background) to tackle varied design projects
  • Taking ownership of areas from UI and UX to Graphic and Marketing Design
  • Producing intuitive, visually appealing web/mobile interfaces & user flows
  • Leading on feature development from concept to launch, taking the user into account along the way
  • Composing practical design systems & style guides
  • Establishing standards/styles/tooling to be rolled out company-wide
  • Recognising constraints & making reasoned design decisions
Some of the skills/knowledge you might have:
  • Ideally tools like Miro, Sketch, Marvel/similar - Youll drive the tooling they use so these arent fixed!
  • Graphic, UX and UI design
  • Accessibility & inclusive design
  • Digital illustration
  • Motion design & animation
  • If youd be interested in taking on a Lead role (very much on the cards here!): Mentoring/line management/department leadership and interviewing/recruitment
