Job Description

Desktop Support Engineer - Refresh ProjectEdinburghSalary: up to £26,680We have an exciting opportunity for a Desktop Support Engineer to support with a refresh project based on our clients site in Edinburgh.The role requires excellent software, hardware and customer skills as the successful candidate will be dealing with hardware refresh of laptops and arranging appointments for installation dates. The role is mainly technical for hardware/software roll-out issuesand dealing with any requests related to the refresh project.This is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract working full-time Monday to Friday on site in Edinburgh.Due to the nature of our clients work the ideal candidate will need to either hold or be able to obtain SC Security Clearance. For this reason we can only progress with applications from British nationals.Duties:- Refresh project - building and installing PC assets for the client- Adhere to customer, HSSE and security policies- Site based role refreshing client assets - laptop, desktop and/or VDI devices- Will be required to build and deploy devices at site and interact with site-based team and customersEssential skills / qualifications:- A good technical knowledge of IT, PCs/peripherals and their architecture- Some experience of software and hardware troubleshooting skills- In-depth knowledge of standard SW issues including Windows OS, Office Suites and core application suites- Good customer facing skills, communication and interpersonal skills- Good organisational skills, able to take a methodical approach to service issues- Able to work both on own initiative and as part of a team- Ability to work under pressure to meet SLAs and remain calm in stressful situations- Ability to follow processes and procedures- Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsDesirable skills / qualifications:- Software technical qualifications, i.e. MCP, MCSE- Manufacturer accreditations- Office 365 & Win 10 experience would be beneficial, but if you have experience in carrying out roll-outs/refreshes- Knowledge of Service NowFull UK driving Licence desirable but not essential.This is an excellent opportunity to join us and as an employee you will gain access to a large library of training courses and accreditations to help further your skills and development.We also offer an excellent benefits package including personal pension plan, and various other flexible benefits including private medical cover, life insurance, and flexible holiday to name a few.Select the apply button shown to apply now for consideration!By completing the application process you agree that ES Field Delivery UK LTD (FDS) may contact you in line with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in connection with your application via the contact details you provided in relation to the vacancy youhave applied for.
