Job Description

OVERVIEW Our client is looking for a forward-thinking, progressive, hard-working, and cultured Database Administrator to join their IT Team.The successful candidate will join the existing infrastructure team to help manage the running of our core databases at our client. You will be providing guidance and support to the senior IT leadership team to set and then deliver the database roadmap, aligning to their business strategy.You will be a strong DBA with a proven track record of delivering great service with large-scale upgrade and transformation projects under your belt - you’ll have the confidence to challenge the norm.If you are an experienced operational Database Administrator with a passion for technology and enjoy working in a dynamic environment, Our client would love to hear from you! WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Manage production Oracle and Microsoft SQL database systems
  • Performance Tuning and Monitoring
  • Being proactive to ensure everything is working at its peak performance with no service disruptions
  • Storage and Capacity Planning
  • SQL tunning
  • Ensure appropriate backup solutions and schedules are in place for database infrastructure
  • Monitoring, improving, and maintaining their RPO / RTO objectives
  • Advising on future projects relating to databases
  • Advise on new technologies and how they may be applied to the potential advantage
  • WHAT YOU NEED Essential
  • 5+ years’ experience in administering Oracle Enterprise Database & Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience on management of a large-scale enterprise level database environments
  • Proven ability to transform database environments
  • Performance Tuning & Scripting Skills on both Oracle and MS SQL
  • Hands-on experience running highly available and replicated data systems.
  • Expert knowledge of database design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Experience with databases running on AIX, Linux, Solaris & Windows operating systems
  • Desirable
  • Experience with SAP platforms
  • Experience with any of the following Oracle Streams, Oracle Data Warehouse Builder, Oracle Data Guard, Redgate SQL monitor tool
  • Knowledge on other database platforms including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
  • ITIL Certification
