Job Description

The core function of the Data Manager is to ensure the relevant controls are in place to mitigate risk against financial losses, and to provide the business with confidence that the data is complete and accurate.Duties can vary from supporting the team through the month end close, using your SQL skills to help troubleshoot and quantify problems, or working with product and data teams to understand project delivery.Client DetailsFTSE 250 Technology business with a range of apps and websites serving the travel industry that serves 90 million customers monthly.DescriptionThis is a truly career defining role for someone passionate about data looking for an opportunity to join a highly rated team.   • Managing and developing a small team of talent
  • Be responsible for a suite of automated data controls, ensuring they remain relevant in a constantly evolving business.
  • Ensure controls are monitored daily, and exceptions are managed in a timely manner which mitigate any impact on financial processes. This includes working with external parties to ensure that we settle correctly for every transaction.
  • Demonstrate data quality by developing compelling and interactive visualisations and dashboards using Tableau.
  • Work closely with product and data teams to understand system developments, make impact assessments, and deliver quality requirements.
Profile
  • Excellent SQL skills, and experience of working with multiple data sources
  • Have experience of data controls, or testing methodologies which can be embedded within the team, or a proven track record in developing and enhancing existing processes
  • An inquisitive and analytical mindset,able to quickly grasp the fundamentals of complex systems and processes, explaining and presenting them to others is an easy to understand way
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and to re-prioritise in line with changing business needs
  • The ability to influence stakeholders through great communication and relationship development skills
