Our goal is to put technology at the forefront of our culture and transform banking.Our Insurance, Pensions and Investments Labs are improving support to our customers throughout their financial lives, with clear, straightforward customer journeys, helping empower them to make the right decisions on insurance and protection needs.About the RoleJoining us as a Data Engineer within the Pensions Core Lab, youll play a key role in facilitating and resolving the Labs data requirements alongside the Product Owners, Business Analysts and Business Intelligence specialists. Youll provide critical dataexpertise to assist pre-processing and gather data, help to represent data using various reporting, visualisation tools investigating and analysing data to recommend and support solutions for customersYoull help to develop, test and maintain high quality, reusable data pipelines, ingesting structured and/or unstructured data into our data lake, and curating data for consumption through analytics and BI. Youll be working in a variety of server and cloudenvironments, using innovative toolsets, as well as evaluating new technologies to expand our capabilities.An ideal Data Engineer for Pensions Core will be technically literate, experienced in numeric data analysis, enthusiastic for problem solving and analysis, able to communicate well and have a passion for designing and developing efficient, re-usable assetsand capabilities to benefit our customers.   • A passion for designing and developing efficient, re-usable assets and capabilities to benefit our customers

  • Good collaboratoryoull be working with colleagues from different areas across Insurance & Wealth and the Group in order to understand and provide value and insight for our customers

What we need from you:
  • Experience of designing, building, optimising and delivering data pipelines, architectures and datasets
  • Experience of developing and maintaining data pipeline architecture via cloud-based and on-premise solutions
  • Solid technical background with ability to create and integrate APIs
  • In depth knowledge of SQL & relational databases as well as experience of Hadoop
  • Good knowledge of object-oriented scripting languages such as Python, Scala, Java
  • Develop technical and data strategies
  • Good understanding of data modelling techniques and coding methodologies
  • Good communication & social skills
  • Line management experience to support analysts using Your Best Framework
