Job Description

Morgan Hunts leading client require a Data Centre Engineer on a contract basis until the end of March, with a strong likelihood of extension. This role will need the successful candidate to be on site at least once per week, with an initial two weeks in the office.This role is outside of IR35, with a day rate of £300- £350 per day.Responsibilities

  • Data Centre operations, equipment installations and other changes
  • Hardware maintenance swap out and work with vendors to replace faulty components.
  • Support Network and Systems engineers with Data Centre work as needed
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation
  • Work with other engineers and on delivering various projects to the right standard
  • Help managed and plan Data Centre based projects as required.
  • Be a part of setting a high standard for and continually evolve the Data Centre operations standards.
    • Requirements
  • Experience doing Data Centre work, equipment and cabling installations
  • Strong familiarity with fibre based cabling standards and installations.
  • Strong VMWare experience
  • Experience doing server configuration
  • Understanding of network equipment and protocol fundamentals
  • Good working knowledge of Windows operating systems and using troubleshooting tools
  • Analytical problem solver, plans and prioritises to work efficiently
  • Self-starter, able to take on projects, plan and manage time, delivery and expectations.
  • Able to work out of hours and in some case on weekends as needed.
  • Able to use ticketing systems consistently and follow defined standards
  • Knowledge of change control systems and related working restrictions
