Job Description

Data AnalystRate - £300 a dayDuration - 3 Months initiallyLocation - Edinburgh (Hybrid)IR35 - Inside (Must use an umbrella company)We have recently implemented Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP to replace our legacy HR, Payroll and Finance applications. We make specific use of Oracle Project Portfolio Management Cloud to manage the finance aspects of the research projects. With the implementationof Oracle Fusion and PPM, we are looking to embed and enhance our processes in relation to research finance management and undertake a programme of continuous improvement.We are looking for an individual to work with large datasets of complex information relating to research applications, awards and finances to help us set priorities for our continuous improvement projects. We aim to increase data quality, identify, and addressbacklogs and legacy issues and report on our success.Main Responsibilities

  • Undertaken analysis on key datasets in relation to projects information and financial data in People & Money and Worktribe, in alignment with the continuous improvement programme
  • Undertake reconciliations between datasets to identify gaps, inconsistencies, errors and areas for improvement.
  • Provide insights and monthly progress reporting on key datasets aligning with KPIs
Essential Skills and Experience
  • A proactive individual who has initiative to investigate and report on characteristics of datasets, highlighting where issues may arise
  • Experience of providing written and verbal reports
  • Experience in large complex public sector organisation.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience with Oracle PPM and / or Worktribe.
  • Experience in Higher Education.
  • Microsoft Power BI with knowledge of DAX/PowerQuery
  • Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
  • Microsoft Power Automate
