Job Description

Credit Risk Manager | Permanent | Edinburgh/Remote Working Brand new opportunity to showcase your Credit Risk skills in a progressive, forward-thinking organisation!Excellent basic salary plus a first-class benefits package!Change Recruitment are working with an innovative, dynamic Financial Services client (based in Edinburgh but happy to support remote working) who are looking for a Credit Risk Manager with a focus on Provisioning & ForecastingIn this role, youll be responsible for delivering insight into the key drivers of impairment / Expected Credit Loss, impairment forecasts to support the Financial Planning Process (Including ICAAP) and provisioning related regulatory reporting.*** Please note - all Credit Risk backgrounds will be considered providing you are keen to utilise your varied experience to tell the story! ***Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver insight into key drivers of impairments including underlying arrears performance and movements in expected credit loss, via reporting packs to working groups and Retail Credit Risk Committee (RCRC) ensuring the content is accurate and insightful.
  • Deliver the impairment inputs into the Banks Financial Planning and ICAAP processes, ensuring adequate input from Collections & Recoveries (C&R) and Portfolio Management.
  • Input into Commercial initiatives, such as product development and pricing such that Provisioning requirements are adequately considered.
  • Ensure appropriate operational risk identification and control, owning the teams process risk & control assessments.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to Senior Analysts in Provisioning, supporting development.
  • Collaborate with external service providers to ensure that services are delivered per SLAs.
  • Work closely with Modelling to ensure Loss Forecasting Models are fit for purpose and meet expectations of Provisioning and key stakeholders.
  • Pro-actively identify and deliver opportunities to enhance the key processes in relation to accuracy, efficiency, controls and insight.
Ideal experience required
  • Extensive experience within credit risk including significant experience within Retail banking or finance.
  • Highly numerate with a degree in a relevant discipline. Strong SAS / Excel / SQL skills and comfortable using more advanced SAS data steps (SAS certification is not essential but would be advantageous).
  • A customer-focussed self-starter not relying on direction from above.
  • Ability to deputise for senior colleagues, facing off to with Senior Managers and Execs.
  • Strong leadership skills - relevant management experience an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to convey technical issues to non -technical colleagues.
  • Demonstrable influencing and relationship management skills gained in fast paced environments.
  • Ability to make recommendations when information is incomplete or conflicting.
  • Well organised, able to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent team player with ability to work closely with others to deliver results
