Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a dynamic and forward thinking team in Wolverhampton. This is a great opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist with experience working within CAMHS or eating disorder services.The successful candidate will be providing a specialist psychology service and play an integral role as part of an expanding team within a brand new service. This is an excellent opportunity as this in a new company within the sector and there will be roomfor progression.Essential criteria of a Consultant Psychiatrist:

  • Fully Registered Medical Practitioner
  • Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent
  • GMC Specialist Register
  • Approval under Sec 12 MHA 1983/current Approved Clinician Status
  • Hold a CCT (or equivalent) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, General Adult Psychiatry or Forensic Psychiatry.
  • Have experience of working with young people and/or young adults with complex mental health presentations, including personality disorders.
  • Experience working with Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder either in community or in-patient setting
Key responsibilities of aConsultant Psychiatrist:
  • To lead the multi-disciplinary team and work collaboratively with the Operations Director in accordance with MHA (amended 2007) and utilising Care Programme Approach.
  • The role of the Consultant Psychiatrist in the team is to provide strong leadership and support in clinical care and risk management.
  • Play an integral part in the clinical design within a new service.
  • To offer psychopharmacological management where needed.
  • Participate in Clinical Governance.
