Job Description

Job Title: Construction and Engineering Associate SolicitorLocation: EdinburghExperience: 4 years post-qualification experience (PQE)Type: Full-time, Hybrid WorkingAbout the Firm: Our clients firm is a top tier legal 500 firm in Edinburgh. This team is dedicated to delivering high-quality legal services to their clients in the construction industry. We are currently seeking an experienced Constructionand Engineering Associate Solicitor with a focus on non-contentious matters to join this team.Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of non-contentious construction and engineering matters, including contract drafting, negotiation, and advisory work.
  • Provide expert legal advice on construction contracts, procurement strategies, and project documentation.
  • Work with a variety of sectors including renewable energy and nuclear, transport, defence and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure legal compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments and regulatory changes affecting non-contentious construction and engineering practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience in non-contentious construction and engineering law.
  • Proficient in drafting and negotiating construction contracts, development agreements, and related documents.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and project management in the construction sector.
  • Proven ability to provide strategic and commercially focused legal advice.
