Job Description

Community Legacy ManagerLocation: Edinburgh (covering Scotland and the North East England area)35 Hours per weekContract type: Permanent Salary: Circa £28,000 per annumCould you make a difference by connecting with our supporters to play a crucial role in maximising our legacy incomeWere looking for a Community Legacy Manager to be the lead person within Scotland and North East England responsible for legacies; which are our single largest net voluntary income stream. Last year we raised over 32 million pounds through the kindness and generosity of our legacy supporters and the Community Legacy Manager plays a key role in making a real difference to the lives of vulnerable people in crisis. As well as having responsibility for an exciting programme of information events to inspire new supporters, the Community Legacy Manager will deliver a stewardship plan to maintain existing support and grow income.This role might be for you if

  • Youve experience in direct marketing/ fundraising (while this is advantageous, we may also consider candidates outside the charity sector that can demonstrate strong sales experience with an interest in the humanitarian field)
  • Youve experience with public speaking and can deliver engaging informative and effective presentations
  • You can show compassion, build meaningful relationships with prospects, and can convert them into donors
  • You Hold a full driving licence (travel is an essential part of the role and the successful candidate must have the ability to travel throughout Scotland and the North East of England using own car and hire cars for longer distances)Meet the teamThe fundraising and supporter engagement directorate enables us to help people in crisis by raising much needed income. Legacies are an important source of income for the British Red Cross and the single largest net voluntary income stream. The work of the team is essential in allowing us to continue providing support to people in crisis every day.
