Our mission is to "Maximise the potential of data in the fight against Economic Crime."This will be a voyage of discovery for the whole ECP platform, driven by the work of 4 key areas in the Data Lab:

  • "The Destination": Data Management and Strategy
  • "The Journey": Data Engineering
  • "The Discoverers": Data Science and Analytics
  • "The Guides": Data Direction and Design
With the move to cloud as part of our Tech and Data Strategy, we have a requirement for a key member of the team to support design, use, and monitoring for the ongoing BAU costs associated with the use of our platform. As a FinOps champion, you will be involvedin our GCP migration, and will be needed to support our use of OCP and ICP.Here’s where you’ll make a difference:What follows is what you might find yourself doing as a Cloud FinOps Champion on a day-to-day basis, but your role can be flexible depending on the teams needs, and your own aspirations. Our goal is to help you develop in a way that fulfils you and createan environment where you can do what you enjoy.
  • Youll design and lead the ECP platforms approach to Cloud FinOps on all our cloud platforms.
  • Youll work with the platforms Solution and Data Architects to optimise our designs to optimise ongoing cost and maximise the sustainability outcomes of our cloud implementations.
  • Youll work with the teams to ensure that the design and labelling of our cloud implementations underpin a strategic cost model for the platforms cloud-based activities.
  • Youll take ownership of the monitoring of ongoing cloud operational expenditure against budget and ensure that alerting is in place to warn when things are going wrong.
  • Youll work with the platforms central business support team to ensure that Cloud expenditure reports are created in an accessible, informative, and timely manner, and that forecasts are created, and adjusted when required.
  • Youll feed back to the teams driving the operational costs to optimise their usage of the cloud platforms.

  • You’ll have a Cloud Engineering background with commercial experience in the implementation of cost-effective solutions.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts and roadmaps to financial implications and decisioning.
  • You will have a good understanding of how to optimise and organise costs for cloud platforms.
  • You will have experience in the design and delivery of visualisation and reporting.
  • You’ll have excellent communication & teamwork skills and be able to bring multiple stakeholders on a journey.
