Supporting teams migrating to Cloud Encouraging responsible use of infrastructure by making visible Just in Time access, reducing our carbon footprint and providing learning and development opportunities.   • Building and supporting a central deployment pipeline.
  • Supporting teams migrating to Cloud
  • Encouraging responsible use of infrastructure by making visible Just in Time access, reducing our carbon footprint and providing learning and development opportunities.
The team work within the Insurance & Wealth Division and support all platforms within this area, working closely with the Group central team to build new products and features for our customers.About the role:Within the I&W CCoE we have the need for an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join us and assist with the migration of the I&W estate as well as to assure the alignment of future cloud projects to the highest of standards.Heres where youll make a difference:
  • You’ll have current GCP certifications or perhaps AWS, know the difference between Pulmi, Terraform, groovy, and AWS CDK and likely have capability in various languages.
  • A self-starting attitude required to be part of a team enabling applications to be hosted into public cloud.
  • Whilst skills, knowledge and prior experience are meaningful to us we want people who are highly motivated, and enthusiastic with an inquisitive and curious approach to work.
  • We’re also a people business and to support these huge technical endeavours you’ll need good communication skills and take a collaborative approach.
What we need from you:
  • Public cloud knowledge with GCP ACE or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a Public Cloud landscape.
  • Experience of end-to-end project delivery within Public Cloud, both for Lift and Shift and Cloud Native migration
  • A solid understanding of all aspects related to IAM and organisation security design.
  • An understanding of best practice around bastion/direct connect/vpn tunnels into GCP.
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes, Spinnaker, ISTIO and related security models
  • You will understand container signatures and how to manage those in production
  • Exposure to multiple infrastructure technologies (Server, Storage, Network) in a Design and/or implementation role.
  • You’ll be passionate about engineering standard methodologies such as infrastructure as code, testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
  • You’ll have a keen interest in understanding and improving the existing code and future developments to the highest standards within our organisation
