Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Dumfries and Galloway, is currently looking to recruit a Climate Emergency Project Development Officer for an initial 12 month contract on a rate of £285/day (outside IR35). This role will be remotebased.Responsibilities:- To develop a suite of Net Zero projects relevant to the reduction of regional carbon emissions and to prepare these for investment.Essential Skills:- Degree in a relevant discipline.- Excellent Communications skills.- Experience in identifying pathways to reach Net Zero including capital project programmes.- Experience of identifying and implementing renewable technology opportunities and innovative solutions.- Experience in identifying potential net zero / circular economy projects, across the region, for further development and investment. - Experience in decreasing carbon emissions and initiating projects to attain significant emissions reductions. - Excellent understanding of project and programme management / time management including any supplier time and outputs from suppliers. - Experience of working to specific deadlines whilst ensuring high quality outputs are maintained.- Extensive experience in the Public Sector and working with Local Authority Clients. - Extensive experience in identifying public and private sector funding relevant to net zero and circular economy projects. - Full understanding of relevant local and national climate change related legislation as well as climate risk. - Extensive experience in the opportunities available relevant to low and zero carbon energy, circular economy, resilience, green jobs, green investment. - Extensive knowledge of renewable strategy and policy. - Extensive experience in the opportunities of innovation and identifying the risk associated with it to ensure maximum carbon reduction impact with minimal risk to stakeholders.- Experience in providing clear project proposals which are realistic, achievable, demonstrable, and effective.- Experience in design, research, data analysis and investment. - Experience of Low Carbon Heat and Energy Efficiency workstreams - Experience of identifying and securing funding for identified projects.- Current Driving licence to enable site visits to very rural locations.Desirable Skills:- Experience in the development of net zero projects in both domestic and non-domestic sectors. - Proven track record of managing and developing carbon reduction projects. - Extensive experience in renewable strategy and policy. - Experience in the developing and delivering Energy Action Plans.If you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.
