Referrals Advisors work within a broad strategic framework, monitoring, interpreting and providing robust analysis of referrals at a local clinician, practice and locality level in both primary and secondary care within Lothian in order to support the effective signposting and transfer of high quality referrals to the most appropriate location.The post holder in conjunction with GP, community, and secondary care colleagues, will develop new management and referral clinical pathways and where appropriate develop alternatives to outpatient referral and advice on demand management. He/she will maintain, edit, and develop SCI Gateway, the national electronic e-referral mechanismProvide feedback to referrers, on the volume and quality of referrals made, identifying any outliers, and providing education and support where necessary.
