Job Description

Quest Search and Selection is working with this multi-channel, multi-product company that has been established for over 50 years.In this Category Manager position, You will be responsible for the delivery of commercial ranges and unique products whilst delivering on sales and margins.Key responsibilities of Category Manager - Retail

  • Manage and develop supplier relationships for the category, looking at new suppliers and brands to fit the range
  • Understand trends and metrics to range product in line with customers expectations
  • Identify supply chain issues and manage to ensure stock availability
  • Analyse consumer buying patterns and predict future trends
  • Working with the merchandising team, manage plans for stock levels
  • Regularly review performance indicators, such as sales, sell through, promotions and stock levels
  • Attend trade fairs to select and assemble new collections on a seasonal basis
  • Curate and trade multi channel strategy and understanding of their eCommerce and Retail customer
  • Train and mentor junior team members,Take the lead in creating a great place to work for everyone
To be successful in this Category Manager position -
  • Minimum of 4years+ Buying experience within the retail industry.
  • You must be operating as Buyer,Buying Manager, Category Manager level from a retail role/eCommerce buying background.
  • If you have DIY, Home, Food, Accessories or General Merchandise experience this is highly desirable
  • Past experience from a branded buying & own-label background is ideal
  • Strong stakeholder relationship experience within Merchandising eCommerce and Supply Chain
  • Advanced in excel, powerpoint and word
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
