Job Description

Care AssistantEdinburgh£12.08 Per Hour, Mileage at 45p per mileLife at PrestigePeople are at the very heart of Prestige, and we want to make life better for them. As a Care Assistant, youll join us in our continued efforts to make life better for our clients.Prestige Nursing & Care has provided home care for over 75 years and we have 30 local offices in England and Scotland. We look after a variety of clients in their own homes and we also work with local care homes, nursing homes and the NHS.Who will you be helping to make life better forOur clients are looking for somebody to help with domestic tasks around the house, support with all personal care, medication management and administration, and general emotional support.Pay RatePrestige Nursing and Care reward our employees with a very competitive rate of pay in comparison with other employers, £12.08/Hour. If you are a driver you are also eligible to an additional payment of 45 pence per mile towards travelling expenses. Pleasenote that we pay for visit time only.The roleTravelling to communities within Edinburgh to support vulnerable individuals.

  • Following pre-determined Care Plans. Building lasting relationships with service users. The prompting or the administration of medication. Personal care. Social interaction. The accurate recording of all activity after the visit.
The attendance time will vary between individual clients but will last for between 30 - 60 minutes.Shift Patterns
  • Full time - Week 1 Monday/Tuesday/Saturday/Sunday Week 2 Wednesday/Thursday/Friday. Full time shifts during the above weekly runs; 7am - 2pm AND 4pm - 10pm (this would never change)
  • Part time - as above but either 7am - 2pm OR 4pm - 10pm
  • Bank work shifts - colleagues provide their weekly availability for shifts and will be contacted if there is a requirement. Please note that bank work does not guarantee shifts.

Were looking for:
  • Six months paid experience in care preferred but not essential as full training available
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Caring, resilient, committed and reliable
  • A drivers licence and access to own vehicle is an advantage but not essential- business insurance req
  • Good professional and personal references
