Job Description

BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ENGINEER - INSIDE IR35 - INITIAL 9 MONTH CONTRACT Loriens leading public sector client are looking for a experienced Business Intelligence Engineer to join their team.Main DutiesThe initial focus of work is:* Work to build reports on the Oracle Fusion cloud using OTBI & BI Publisher* Looking at current management information and analytics produced by existing systems for finance and human resources.* Helping prepare data to support BI solutions.* Prepare functional and/or technical specifications for reports built on Oracle Cloud - mainly, HCM and ERP.You will:* Build reports as per business requirements and functional specifications.* Produce relevant specification documents and provide technical advice on reports to non-technical colleagues.* Summarise and present data and conclusions in the most appropriate format for users.* Have good command of Oracle HCM, Oracle ERP (especially Finance modules) to build reports.* Be able to help less experienced permanent members of staff develop their Oracle Cloud report development skills.* Apply tools and techniques for data analysis and data visualisation (including the use of business information tools).* Identify, collect and migrate data to and from a range of systems.* Manage, clean, abstract and aggregate data alongside a range of analytical studies on that data.Essential Criteria

  1. Strong experience with Oracle Cloud reporting tools - OTBI & BI Publisher.
  2. Strong SQL scripting skills and the ability to carry out data manipulation and/or pipelining jobs.
  3. Understanding of data preparation activities and data modelling preferably within an HR and Finance setting.
  4. Experience working closely with external or internal users/organisations to understand and validate data inputs, and explain analysis outputs in business rather than technical language.
  5. Experience of working with technical and non-technical stakeholders to help define reporting requirements via documenting in Business Requirement Documents, Functional Specification Documents and Technical specification documents.
Desirable Criteria
  1. Functional experience with Oracle HCM and ERP is highly advantageous.
  2. Excel, Microsoft BI and / or Tableau practical experience for data analysis and BI purposes is highly advantageous.
