Job Description

Business AnalystRate - £300 a dayDuration - 3 Months initiallyLocation - Edinburgh (Hybrid)IR35 - Inside (Must use an umbrella company)We have recently implemented Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP to replace our legacy HR, Payroll and Finance applications. We make specific use of Oracle Project Portfolio Management Cloud to manage the finance aspects of the research projects. With the implementationof Oracle Fusion and PPM, we are looking to embed and enhance our processes in relation to research finance management and undertake a programme of continuous improvement.We are looking for an individual to work with our subject matter experts in creating and optimising of our end-to-end research finance processes and supporting documentation. You will work within Edinburgh Research Office to create a resource bank of processesand procedures which cover our system and off-system processes in delivery of research finance support.Main Responsibilities

  • Working with Edinburgh Research Office and the research community to map our research finance processes from end-to-end, identifying gaps in existing procedures and documentation.
  • Consolidate system and off-system processes and create a set of procedures which relate to the end-to-end research finance processes.
  • Work with multiple stakeholders and subject matter experts to find appropriate solutions and ways of working which meet the requirements of users and maintain a strong financial control environment.
  • Provide regular reporting on progress to project sponsor, highlighting completion rates, system defects, risks and future actions for continuous improvement
Essential Skills and Experience
  • A logical and methodical mindset, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically, working with others to propose creative solutions.
  • Experience of working with multiple stakeholders and departments in the creation end-to-end process and supporting procedural documentation.
  • Knowledge of strong financial control environments.
  • Experience in large complex public sector organisation.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience with Oracle PPM and / or Worktribe.
  • Experience of Oracle Fusion Cloud implementation.
  • Experience in Higher Education.
