Building Maintenance / Building Facilities Technician This is for a luxury student accommodation building in Edinburgh Our client is looking for a HANDS ON, experienced, but above all passionate Building Technician / Maintenance Engineer who is extremely service focused. The role is within a customer-facing environment and you will be responsible for keeping and maintainingof a luxury student residence where the highest standards are a minimum expectation. You will also be responsible for the compliance of the residence to all health and safety and other legislative requirements. You must have excellent communication skills and a helpful, can-do attitude. This is a very hands on role as we prefer to complete as much work as possible internally, providing a friendly, quick and efficient service to the residents. Role responsibilities · DIY (Plumbing, Painting, Decorating, Joinery) for all communal spaces and studios as required · Ongoing and prompt management of building facilities, either by carrying out the works yourself or by the procurement of external contractors · Maintaining the residence to brand standards · Ensuring compliance when responding to identified maintenance faults · Ensure compliance of the property with the all health and safety requirements · Manage and record the routine testing, servicing, maintenance and risk assessment of all aspects of the property · Managing all supplies and works within budget · Provide excellent customer service as a member of the residence management team. Role requirements The ideal candidate will: · Have knowledge and experience of DIY. · Be service orientated, independent and confident, and have experience in a facilities maintenance role. · Have experience with the health and safety requirements of a large property. · Be adept at procuring and managing services and goods from external suppliers and contractors · Have experience maintaining a budget · Have excellent communication skills and with a helpful, can-do attitude · Be proactive N.B.
