NHS Lothian Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and Western General HospitalDepartment of Pathology Biomedical Support Worker level 3 (Band 3)Full Time permanent post 37.5 hours per weekSalary – Band 3 - £20,700 - £22,594Applications are invited from individuals with an interest in working in a hospital laboratory environment. Candidates should have an enthusiastic and flexible attitude to work. Candidates should be Educated to SCQF level 7 e.g. HNC; SVQ 3; Personal Development Award; Modern Apprenticeship; IBMS Certificate of Achievement Part 1The successful candidate will be required to perform a range of laboratory duties in support of the delivery of the clinical services. It is essential that the successful candidate have proven knowledge and application of IT skills. The duties may include rotation to histology laboratory, reception, trimming room, checking and recording of pathological specimens, filing and retrieval of patient material and assisting with the general housekeeping duties of the laboratory. The successful candidate would be based initially at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh but would be expected to rotate to the Western General Hospital at times.
