Job Description

The team at Denholm are delighted to be working with a leading consulting business to assist in recruitment of a Bid Manager to join their team.This is a trusted client that we have worked with previously and we have previously placed staff with them, receiving fantastic feedback as a place to work. Many companies claim to have a fantastic culture but from what I have seen and heard, this companyis the real deal. Their headcount has grown by 400 this year but they have managed to be very protective of the culture they have built, and staff turnover is low, so opportunities like this do not arise often.The team you would be joining is a well-resourced team of 8 spread across Glasgow, Edinburgh and London, respected internally and led by a friendly manager, who is based in London but comes up to Scotland regularly for face-time with the team.On offer is a very strong benefits package (including a profitshare scheme which accounts for several thousand pounds of bonus per year for this role) on top of a generous salary.We are open to speak to candidates commutable to either Glasgow or Edinburgh, and can offer hybrid working.Key responsibilities:

  • Support bidding team to complete and deliver all bid-related requirements across opportunities to win business from new and existing clients across all service lines
  • Endorse good bidding practice, in line with the companys approach to client focus, proposition building, editorial excellence and creative design.
  • Support the end-to-end bids process, initially alongside senior team members with a view to developing into self-sufficient oversight and management
  • Hands-on production of outstanding business development materials (bids and presentations), including research and planning, coordinating input of stakeholders and contributors, drafting from Knowledgebase of approved generic content, drafting new contentwith support, peer review, proofreading,
  • Adhere to proposal project plan to ensure all activities are completed on time, and to high quality standards.
  • Participate in key-stage meetings, including: pre-bid planning, qualification, kick-off, and progress review etc.
  • Monitor and track project progress, including drafting, collating contributions from SME
  • Liaison with Designers, Document Managers and Bid Coordinators
  • Peer review and proofreading for e.g. compelling content, grammar, spelling and layout
  • Support continuous development of content repository by identifying appropriate content, working with the Knowledge Base Manager to capture
  • Managing and submitting proposals via online procurement portals
  • Adhere to the firms Information Security standards, policies and procedure
Skills and Qualifications required:
  • Experience of proposals/bidding is essential
  • Understand guiding principles in good practice in bids management processes across both new business and account development
  • Enthusiasm and proactive drive to grow in the role, building expertise with a view to strengthening skills in shaping proposal strategy based on client drivers and competitive landscape.
  • Excellent time management - proven ability to multi task and prioritise. Project management experience a plus.
  • Effective interpersonal techniques, and ability to establish rapport with colleagues including Bids Team members, Business Development Group, consultants, support functions and senior owning partners
  • Experience of public sector procurement processes would be a plus
  • Empathy and ability to flex style and approach to match individual buyer/evaluator priorities and drivers
