Job Description

Pertemps are delighted to be working with our public sector client in Edinburgh to recruit for Benefits Processing Officers on a fixed term contract.Location - central EdinburghHours of work - 36 hours, Monday - FridayDuration - 2 years Fixed Term ContractPay - £22,129 - £26,393 D.O.E.Start date - ASAPSuccessful candidates will be joining an established team to provide a high quality and consistent transactional service dealing with a range of complex transactions.You must have:

  • Experience of processing housing benefits, council tax and council tax reductions
  • Used Northgate and Civica 360
  • A proven track record of complex assessments and processing
    • You will be:
  • Providing high quality transactional services to internal and external customers
  • Liaising directly with internal / external customers via a range of channels to provide appropriate advice and guidance on transactional services and ensure that they are completed efficiently and within timescales
  • Directing and assisting customers requiring specialist advice and providing information in response to complex queries
  • Using appropriate systems to process applications, assessments, payments, service requests or updates
  • Working as part of a team to support new initiatives and the strategic direction of the service
  • Identifying and evaluating the risks associated with transactions and taking appropriate action to control / mitigate the risks
