Banqueting Sous Chef - High-End Fresh Food RestaurantLocation: Edinburgh, MidlothianSalary: Up to £40,000 + Paid Overtime + Fantastic Company BenefitsOur client, a stunningly stylish premium restaurant operation, is looking for a passionate, highly skilled and experienced Banqueting Sous Chef to join their successful team in the Edinburgh area. With regular high-end weddings and events taking place atthe venue, candidates must have solid banqueting experience catering for large events, be able to work well under pressure and smartly so that standards are maintained at an exceptionally high level.Working within this brigade you will have the full support of an experienced senior kitchen team and the opportunity to grow with the business. As well as having strong relevant experience, the most important thing is that you have the right attitude asit is all about the passion for creating amazing dishes and the desire to learn and develop your skills.You will have the opportunity to grow and develop in the role with future progression available.The role.

  • As Banqueting Sous chef you will assist the Head Chef in the management of your kitchen department leading an experienced team from the front.Produce a high standard of food from scratch catering for regular weddings and events at volume.Deputisefor the Head Banqueting Chef in their absence. Manage a section in the kitchen cooking from fresh ingredients. Eliminate waste or unprofitable practices. Ensure food safety standards are adhered to. Control the ordering and storage of food supplies. Beaware of and support the delivery of financial targets.
The candidate:
  • Strong banqueting experience in a high volume (ideally accoladed) hotel/wedding venue setting at Banqueting Sous Chef/Head Banqueting Chef level.Passion and drive to win awards for your food is desirable.A leader and a team player with the abilityto train and motivate your team.Ability to multitask work well under pressure and maintain high standards in all areas.A strong passion for the kitchen, fresh food and working in a team.A great attitude with a willingness to learn and the hunger todevelop their skills.Knowledge of stock controls, ordering and cost controls.A great communicator - excellent at developing relationships with the team and others involvedA natural flair for cooking with experience of working in a fast-paced freshfood environment.
