Backup Engineer - Commvault/ AWSCathcart Associates are helping one of Edinburghs well-known organisations find a Backup Engineer, who will be a SME in moving old on premise piece of kit to a new Commonvault cloud solution.Paying around £350 per day for a period of 6 months (with extremely high chance of extension). The company have been going through a huge digital transformation and you will be working on their most recent project.Main Purpose of the contractor: ** As the SME technical lead, deliver the transition of the existing on-premise backup solution (Avamar-IDPA 5800/v18.2) to a new Commvault solution in a hybrid model of Commvault on-premise (Cisco CommVault Validated Design Hyperscale Appliance - C240) and Commvault v11 on AWS S3.** Contribute towards maintenance of existing platform Avamar IDPA** As an extension of the above, design and integrate Commvault Cloud with the backup of corporate SAAS products such as M365, SharePoint Online and Salesforce.Backup** Expertise knowledge and experience with both Commvault on premiseand Commvault cloud products.** Substantial experience with Avamar, IDPA.** A good understanding of M365 products, within the context of 3rd party** A good understanding of AWS S3 object storage, specifically within thecontext of integration for 3rd party backup requirements.** General best practice knowledge of backup technologies** A good understanding of Cloud Backup technologies** Knowledge of data centre management and best practices** Knowledge and experience of Agile working, including such disciplines as Kanban,feedback, retrospectives, VFQ.** Experience of designing and leading infrastructure projectsIf you are intrested in this role please give Lewis Black a call at Cathcart Associates or apply below.
