Job Description

Backend C# Engineer - FinTechDESCRIPTIONFPSG are partnered with an exciting FinTech business who are expanding their worldwide operations in Edinburgh and currently need to add experienced Back End Developers to their ranks. You will be working on the development of numerous and varied interface to connections to outside parties across different platforms. The growth of FPSGs Client will be dependent upon the successful development, testing and implementation of these connections, so we require someone who is motivated and driven towards achieving excellent results when the business needs it.This role will help the business disrupt established players in the market and offer customers innovative products and services. You will become a key member of the IT Team and overall business, helping to develop and implement payment service solutions to their Financial Services customers and their end SME sized customers.KEY RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Development and set up of Clients own API stack
  • Developing into a broad Microsoft Stack (C# etc)
  • Backend (nodejs , expressjs, request, request-promise)
  • Involvement in development of their strategy for Open Banking and establishment of necessary infrastructure
  • Development of server side logic, definition and maintenance of central database
  • Ensuring high performance and responsiveness of application
  • Implementation of security and data protection solutions
  • Work with the product and design teams to understand our customer needs and requirements, help formulate use cases
  • Good problem solver, helping to identify solutions to difficult cases and help to deliver results to tight deadline
  • Work with external data sources and APIs
    • REQUIREMENTS KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
  • Able to develop and grow within a new team
  • Developing experience across a broad Microsoft Stack (C# etc)
  • Backend (nodejs , expressjs, request, request-promise)
  • Strong Oracle and SQL
  • Good knowledge of back end programming language(s)
  • Understanding of Open Banking and the opportunities made available to start up organisations
  • Ability to make own decisions while working as part of a team
  • Have worked in a similar role (not necessarily within Financial Services)
  • Willing to work in a new environment where many decisions have still to be taken and where change is an ever present feature
  • Exposure to Cloud Development AWS Amazon Web Services
