Job Description

Job Title: Associate Director - Transport PlanningOffice Location: EdinburghSalary Range: £60,000 to £70,000The Edinburgh based team of a multinational consultancy is looking for an Associate Director, with a strong analytical background and creative approach to problem-solving.Along with delivering an existing workflow of innovative projects and managing the current transport planning team, you will have an unlimited scope to continue growing the team and advancing your own career.The team is currently involved in evaluating transport planning schemes, forecasting, transport policy development & evaluation, business case development, economic appraisal and providing specialist advice to government agencies.Job Specification:

  • Delivery or public transport schemes;
  • Strategic transport plans;
  • Smart cities & smart vehicle technology;
  • Transport planning appraisal;
  • Planning of traffic & demand management schemes;
  • Project management, including schedule, budget & staffing;
  • Support business development;
  • Candidate Specification:
  • An extensive background in transport planning;
  • Capable of delivering creative solutions to complex problems;
  • Experience managing teams & mentoring junior staff;
  • Highly competent projects manager;
  • Able to assist in identifying and developing new business opportunities;
  • Strong communication & presentation skills;
  • Relevant degree in engineering would be preferred but is not essential.
