Job Description

Title: Assistant VideographerType: Full-Time, Fixed Term (Until 31/03/2024)Salary: £22,520 - £26,028 (under review)Location: EdinburghREF: CML/CS/045/22Closing Date: 13 September 2022SRUC is unique in Scotland and one of the largest organisations of its kind in Europe. Working within SAC Consulting, part of SRUC, you will provide technical support for the filming of videos, both as solo camera operator and sometimes assistant videographer,normally filming outdoors at locations the length and breadth of Scotland, and often involving farmed livestock. Working as part of a small team, will also sometimes take on basic director/producer roles when necessary to support the needs of colleagues, andmay also support colleagues with editing. Assist with labelling, storing and transfer of rushes once a shoot is complete.In this role you may: Operate a range of specialist machinery and/or equipment Record and report data accurately Carry out a range of equipment maintenance and servicing according to instructions Ensure that the equipment is maintained to the standard required to deliver the appropriate level of service Liaise where appropriate with external providers (e.g. regarding operation, maintenance and servicing of equipment) Support colleagues and provide basic guidance as required Investigate and devise technical solutions to a range of practical problems to facilitate effective provision of consultancy services Perform work activities to appropriate time and quality requirements, following established procedures Follow set procedures relating to purchasing of supplies The driving of vehicles for the business of SRUC will be required and extensive travel is expected, including some overnight stays Engage in and undertake professional development activity appropriate/relevant to the post and related professional practicesFurther details on the requirements of this role can be found in the Job Particulars document which you must read before applying for this role.
