Trainee / Apprentice Service EngineerStarting salary of £16,300 which is well above normal apprentice rate, and which also steadily rises with progression and age, and plenty of overtime is also available. Once you have completed the first year of your apprenticeship, your pay would also thenmove up to whatever the national living wage for your age group is.Our client in Edinburgh is recruiting for Apprentice / Trainee Workshop Engineer positions. Full training from scratch will be provided to enable you to service, repair, customise and refurbish multi-functional photocopier, printer and scanning devices.No previous experience of digital office equipment is necessarily required, but you must have a demonstrable and keen interest in electronics / electro mechanics (which will be evident by your CV, covering letter and/or education and training) and that youalso have the ability to interpret colours.* Applicants must also have a driving licence, with at least one years driving experience, as driving vans is required in this position. The job will develop across two main roles:- Training on all aspects of the devices, including the addition of associated software, and providing additional support to other departments.- Delivering and installing equipment at client premises. Engineers also load the devices on and off vans for which you will require a good level of physical fitness, particularly to deal with more complex office installations. You must have a driving licenceto take up this position.Career progression after completion of training, which typically takes 3-4 years to fully complete, will lead to opportunities such as field maintenance engineer, helpdesk engineer, IT software support / solutions engineer, or even a move into a sales executiveposition if suitable. Or you may develop to become a senior member of the Workshop team - their management team have generally started out in this trainee engineer role.Key benefits:
