Job Description

Job title - Admissions OfficerMaternity Contract - November 2021 - June 2022Salary - £20,708-£25,779 depending on experienceLocation - central EdinburghHours - 8.15-16.15 - Monday to FridayOffice Angels have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Admissions Officer to join a prominent educational establishment in Edinburgh. The Admissions Officer is responsible for the efficient management of the schools pupil recruitmentand admissions process, with a particular focus on achieving a positive applicant experience.As this is a maternity contract you must be able to commit to the role from November until June & candidates must be willing to undertake a Disclosure Scotland (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme) check.TASKS: -

  • Be first point of contact for those visiting the establishment
  • Providing an outstanding and tailored admissions experience
  • Handling admissions enquiries
  • Schedule and organise visits to the facilities & grounds
  • Ensure all admissions correspondence and communications are of the highest standard
  • Support the tracking, managing, and analysing of admissions/retention statistics for all stages of the admissions process
  • Work with other colleagues to administer entrance examinations plus all supplementary examinations throughout the year
  • Ensure data is accurate, timely and up to date
  • Ensure all records are maintained in line with current GDPR legislation and regulations
  • Build effective relationships with feeder schools and recruitment agents
  • Work with colleagues to review and update the admissions information contained in promotional material for the school.
  • Undertaking general administrative and IT tasks in other departmental areas to ensure the smooth running of the school, which may include undertaking routine and exceptional duties as required
SKILLS: -
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Events co-ordination, facilitation and management skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Excellent IT literacy including use of MS Office suit
  • Confident, professional, empathetic and amiable nature with an ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters
  • Excellent communication skills, including proof reading and writing skills
  • Forward thinker with an ability to develop and change the role
  • Commitment to maintaining the caring and supportive ethos of the School
  • Commitment to the highest standards of safeguarding for all pupils
