A fantastic opportunity for an experienced accounts assistant who knows debits from credits skills to join a young high growth business in Edinburgh city center. The role is hybrid (2/3 days in the office). This company has won awards and is built on ethicsand innovation.With growth, they have identified a need for an Assistant Accountant, who is energetic and keen to develop their business, financial and accounting skills in a fast paced business and build effective relationships with the sales people. The ideal candidate is a critical thinker, with emotional intelligence capable of working with and across teams. This is a hybrid role and will require the individual to work from home and the office to meet scheduled deadlines. The RoleReporting to the Financial Controller in Edinburgh, this includes but is not restricted to:* Prepare, review and send new invoices to customers* Monitor Accounts Receivable for late payers and follow up on outstanding debt with customers and the sales team* Effective digital filing of customer invoices* Monitor the admin e-mail box for correspondence from sales and customers* Raise purchase orders in line with levels of authority for procuring supply of services and stock for the company* Match the purchase orders to the supplier invoices* Prepare weekly payment files for review. Load payments into bank* Monitor Accounts Payable for late payments and outstanding invoices* Reconcile the bank accounts weekly* Manage the debit cards within the business and interface with the ERP system* Follow-up on outstanding debit card receipts with staff.The Person* You must know debits and credits and how ledgers flow through to trial balance * Ideally a bookkeeping qualification or accountancy degree* Minimum 2 years in a similar role* Ideally worked in a growing entrepreneurial business* Good aptitude with finance systems * Initiative and inquisitive mindset* Good communication and relationship building skills* Attention to detail* Be motivated by discretionary bonus of up to 20%
