Job Description

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit an Accountant for an initial 9-12 month contract on a rate of £250-£300/day (inside IR35). This role will be hybrid working. Responsibilities:- Develop and enhance detailed cashflow reporting based on historic events. - Provide support to the finance and asset teams, and working with a third party VAT adviser, to undertake a detailed VAT review of the business, specifically linked to options to tax for properties. - Ensure that an effective and efficient customer-focussed service is provided to internal and external customers though helping with business as usual finance team activities, and other ad hoc reports as required. - Provide assistance to and liaise with external and internal auditors as required.Essential Skills:- Fully qualified Accountant (CA / ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) - Proven ability to focus on key priorities when under time pressure and to manage competing demands. - Proven ability to work with colleagues and customers from a wide variety of different business backgrounds and to articulate, succinctly, financial issues and outputs in a professional and appropriate way to the corporate norms of Crown Estate Scotland. - Extensive experience of financial management and analysis, including cashflows specifically is desirable. - Excellent numeric skills and keen attention to detail. - Excellent knowledge of MS Office Excel and working knowledge of other MS Office products. - Thorough understanding and experience of working with financial accounting and reporting software including detailed working knowledge of integrated ledger accounting systems. - In-depth working knowledge and understanding of VAT.
