Job Description

If youre a commercially-minded, knowledgeable and experienced Account Director who is as comfortable leading a team as leading a client relationship, we want to hear from you! Denholm is delighted to be working with a multi award-winning marketing agency basedEdinburgh, who are looking for a new Account Director to join at a senior level and help lead business direction as well as client relationships.This agency works with big brand names in a range of sectors including FMCG, Financial Services, Public and Transportation and are well-known for their innovative experiential marketing and creative campaigns. In this role youll be a key member of the clientservices team, building strong relationships both with clients and colleagues to deliver fantastic work within agreed timescales and budgets.What youll be doingReporting into the Group Account Director and being responsible for new business pitches as much as growing existing client accounts, this key role will include:

  • Running campaigns end-to-end, from negotiations to supporting the planners and creatives during campaign development and delivery.
  • Thinking strategically on client accounts and shaping your team to deliver great work.
  • Aiding new business strategy.
  • Managing and developing Senior Account Manager and Account Manager colleagues.
  • Building positive relationships with planning, creative, digital, production and studio departments.
  • Playing a key role in the new business strategy, pitching to external clients.
  • Working with planners to interrogate client briefs, by challenging and asking questions, to develop communications briefs that meet business needs in an effective and accountable way.
  • Identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities with existing and future agency clients.
  • Reporting key financial and team data to the agencys senior leadership.
  • Forecasting future income streams and making sure projects and overall clients are profitable and prepped for growth.
Who were looking for:
  • 4+ years in an agency environment and similar role.
  • Strategic thinker and driver with an eye for detail and great project management skills.
  • Demonstrates leadership. Trusted and unafraid to take charge and build support for your arguments.
  • Ability to manage, delegate and develop team appropriately.
  • Team player and great communicator.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of the agency process model including preparing schedules and quotations, briefing, supporting pitches/client meetings and workshops, proofing work.
  • Eye for creativity and how to challenge it.
  • Understanding of wider marketing and media channels and their role in the communications mix.
  • Understanding of research and planning.
  • Demonstrated success with cross-sector clients.
  • Knowledge of agency IT/invoicing systems.
