2nd Line IT Support Technician Outside IR35Our Public Sector client is looking for a 2nd Line IT Support Technician to come in on an initial 3-month contract.Required Level of Security Clearance / Background checkMust have a valid PVG - Child as successful candidate will be required to spend time working in schools.JOB PURPOSE:The jobholder will provide general technical support and guidance across Digital Services, in particular installation and support services to Front Office - client enterprises devices, software installation and configuration in support of customer user requestsrequirementsin both Corporate and Educational establishments.The jobholder will also answer and log customer calls.MAIN DUTIES:Support the clients Digital Services infrastructure by completing the following tasks in accordance with existing policies, procedures and standards:* Build, configure and install computer equipment, including software at customer sites.* Investigate and correct desktop software application failures or malfunctions at customer sites.* Investigate and correct computer equipment failures or malfunctions at customer sites.* Research and retrieve appropriate fixes via the internet and other support media.* Resolve IT issues raised by customers.* Liaise with suppliers to ensure the correct delivery of services / goods purchased by IT.* Write system documentation.* Maintain the core internal IT management systems and ensure user and asset procedures are followed.* Provide ad-hoc assistance to the end-userEssential Skills, Competences, Experience and Relevant Qualifications* At least one year experience in a PC Support environment.* Being able to work independently, when needed using own initiative.* Being able to communicate with the customer at a non-technical level.* Experience of working on an IT Help Desk* A current Driving LicenseWe are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnerships, pregnancy or maternityor age
