The School of Physics and Astronomy is seeking a Teaching Office Administrator to provide high quality administrative support to students and academic staff within the School’s Teaching Office team. You will have specific responsibility for the administration of multiple courses on Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught Programmes, each with different requirements.A good standard of education is required, for example at HNC level, or standard grades, with proficiency in English and Maths being particularly important, plus typically three years’ experience in a role performing academic administration. With strong organisational skills, excellent communication skills and an ability to deal sensitively with people, you will be able to demonstrate high levels of accuracy and a pro-active approach to problem solving. Excellent IT skills in Microsoft Office and experience of using a student record system are required. Previous experience of a student facing role in higher education and experience of web editing and using databases are desirable.This post is based in the James Clerk Maxwell Building, at the King’s Buildings, but may at times be required to work at the Royal Observatory, Edinburgh on Blackford Hill.This is a full-time and open-ended post.
