This role is based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.Ready to take your scientific career to the next levelIn one of the largest combined NHS trusts in the UKWith labs in one of the newest hospital buildings in the UKIf so we would like to talk to you about the exciting opportunities for Biomedical Scientists specialising in Haematology and Transfusion and how you can develop your career as part of our team.The successful applicant will rotate through Haematology, Coagulation and Blood transfusion whilst being based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Further study,CPD, scientific posters and papers are strongly encouraged and supported by our dedicated Haematology training lead.This busy department receives over half a million Haematology requests and 65,000 group and screen requests annually. The department is the nominated Coagulation laboratory for the West Midlands Regional Haemophilia comprehensive care service, a designated trauma centre and an established military training facility. The laboratory is fully UKAS, MHRA and IBMS accredited.Currently the laboratory operates a 24 hour diagnostic service. The core routine hours of the day are 8am-8pm (Mon-Fri) with rostered Saturday and Sunday morning working (Time off in Lieu). A non voluntary out of hours service is in operation and is worked as part of the 37.5 hours. All shifts are compliant with agenda for change.
