We are looking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Respiratory Physiologist to join our friendly team at the Lung function & Sleep Department, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. The department is one of the most comprehensive in the UK offering a wide range of both routine and specialist respiratory investigations. You will be expected to perform diagnostic and therapeutic assessments of patients within a specialised physiology setting such as full lung function tests, sleep studies, CPAP trials, supplemental oxygen assessments and exercise tests. As a Band 6 you will have a supervisory role providing both experience in specialist procedures and training/ supervision of more junior staff members, therefore previous experience of staff supervision would be highly advantageous.To apply you should ideally be RCCP registered, have experience working in respiratory physiology particularly in specialist areas (e.g , exercise testing, sleep physiology, oxygen assessments).You must have a desire to continue with personal development and be involved in some research. Excellent communication skills are essential within this large team and you must be able to both use your own initiative and, work as part of a team across the Trust. Applicants must have completed the BSc Clinical Physiology/ science or equivalent qualification and have obtained an ARTP competence qualification in lung function testing. This is a unique opportunity for a suitably qualified clinical physiologist to gain experience working within a leading respiratory function department.
