Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Medical Secretary for a GP practice based in Edgbaston. The Medical Practice cares for a diverse population of patients and deliver whole person healthcare, focusing on supporting individuals to play an active role in managingtheir own health. This is a full time position with shift times operating between 9.30am to 5.30pm.Duties and responsibilities:

  • Processing of information (electronic and hard copy) in a timely manner.
  • Liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers in accordance with current policies, including the use of the electronic referral service.
  • Maintaining an accurate referrals database.
  • Clinically coding data on EMIS.
  • Partake in audit as directed by the audit lead.
  • Produce meeting agendas and minute taking.
  • Supporting all clinical staff with administrative tasks.
  • Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Good levels of literacy, IT skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Docman and coding on EMIS.
  • Experience working in a primary healthcare setting as a medical secretary.
  • Strong communication skills with a calm, courteous and professional manner.
  • Good level of organisational and problem solving skills.
  • The ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
