Information Security Specialist Information Security Specialist (IT)Edgbaston, BirminghamSalary circa 45,000 per annumFull time, PermanentReporting into the Business Information Security Officer, as part of the IT security team your role will be primarily responsible in ensuring that the Bank is able to protect and respond to IT security incidents. This is wide ranging security role which will provide you with a breadth of Information Security aspects, we will empower you to grow and develop your skillset.This is also a vital role for the Bank to maintain and manage its threat posture appropriately. On a day to day basis your role will involve ensuring all networks have adequate security to prevent unauthorised access, safeguard information and responding to security incidents. Your expertise in this area will also allow us to review and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Bank’s IT security standards, processes, and procedures.Key responsibilities and tasksYou will provide a 1st level response in the event of security incidents and take an active role in both security incident investigation (reactive) as well as proactive investigation of security log data, the changing threats and vulnerabilities deemed important to the Bank. As part of the IT security team you will also help to manage the operational activities of the external security operations centre. Knowledge of OWASP and testing practices is required.=Working knowledge of IT networking fundamentals. Any firewall experience is a bonus.=Knowledge of security issues and techniques across multiple computer platforms.=Knowledge of various technologies and operating systems and their related security aspects and risks, i.e. MS Windows Server and desktop, Active Directory, Office 365, Salesforce, etc).=Experience with using SIEM tools (e.g. QRadar, AlienVault or similar)=Experience with using ForcePoint Web and DLP functionality or similar=Use of Vulnerability Management tools (e.g. Nessus, Qualys, Rapid7 or similar)=Experience using e-mail filtering products including Mimecast, Forcepoint or similar.=Experience of delivering common security tools and practices in a commercial environment with internal support and third parties.Desirable=Any knowledge of Security Frameworks; Cyber Essentials, ISO 27001, NIST, CIS.=Any security related qualifications including: CEH, SSCP, CompTIA Security.Professional qualifications=Ideally have an appropriate security qualification such as CEH, SSCP, CompTIA Security or an interest in obtaining further certification.
